Named Little Dancer due to her foot-fall, which is a rather loud (in comparison to her diminutive size) tip-tip-tipping across the floor, Little Dancer has a neurological condition called Cereballar Hypoplasia (CH) in which the cerebellum portion of her brain (balance and motor control) did not fully develop, likely due to her mother having a virus during pregnancy. CH is not progressive, so it won't get worse during her lifetime, and it is not contagious. She and her 5 littermates all were born with CH, ranging from nearly unnoticable to a more moderately delayed sibling (Baby Girl). For more information about CH, please check out the following resources:

Mostly able to gauge her jumps, Little Dancer does a little crashing and banging but not falling over or having any trouble maneuvering around. She is completely independent in jumping to the couch, eating/drinking, pottying, etc. She uses a cat tree, just not always gracefully. Infrequently, you might observe some head-bobbing and pecking when eating, but not much, even when excited.
Little Dancer is very small in comparison to her same-litter brothers - she is approximately 5 lbs and her brothers are more like 9 lbs. Aside from CH, she is completely healthy - she has not had an upper respiratory or stool/GI issue since entering foster care in late August. Little Dancer is good natured and has a cute tiny kitten mew. She's super flirtatious - loves to roll around on her back and show her cute fuzzy tummy for loves. Playful, great (toy) mouse catcher, pounces on her treats and toys. She has been exposed to a Portuguese Water dog puppy and is learning about them - has not really met little kids. Little Dancer has been tested (negative) for feline leukemia and feline autoimmune deficiency (feline AIDS) and is spayed, microchipped, current on vaccinations including FVRCP, FeLV, and rabies, and has been treated for fleas, ear mites, and round and tape worms. Adoption fee $120 For more information about Little Dancer, please contact foster mom Gail at gailo@friendsforliferescue.org. Vet references available.
