Josie is a delightful and petite shorthaired tabby with white. She came to Friends for Life Animal Rescue pregnant and without a home, brought by a concerned family who would soon be transferring out of the area and who couldn't find any other placement for her. By the time she finally gave birth, she was 22" around! Following labor, she was the proud and calm mother of 6. Young herself, this was likely her second litter. The vet estimates that she is probably just over a year old, perhaps a year and a half. She is now spayed and has only one remaining kitten, also seeking a home. Josie has a wonderful purr-talk and is so sweet, calm, and gentle. She was a great mother and will be a great companion to someone seeking love and affection. While she was outdoors when found and surrendered, she has been an indoor-only cat since coming to Friends for Life...except for the time she squeezed through a cracked window whose screen was being repaired. Once free, she sat on the roof and watched the neighbor work on his car. She cheerfully came back in when found missing, and while she enjoyed the time in the sun, she doesn't look for any opportunity to escape into the open. It would be better for her health and safety to be an indoor-only kitty, but under supervision - or better yet, in an outdoor enclosure - she would be fine. Josie loves to play and has an automatic purr. Her kittens were quite aerobatic, so she might be too. Laser light has not been introduced, but based on the sounds downstairs, she and her kitten have some lively play in the nursery upstairs! Josie is spayed, microchipped, tested for feline leukemia and feline AIDS, treated for fleas, ear mites, and worms, and is current on her vaccinations. Her adoption fee is by donation, with a minimum recommendation of $40 (regularly $110). As kitten season is here, we really need to place adults as well to make room for more kittens. To meet Josie or learn more about her, please contact her foster Gail at 360-420-2183 or 360-336-1009 or e-mail at gail.andy@comcast.net or 3604202183@vtext.com
