Pip is quite a character!  She is an active and playful tuxedo girl who had to learn to entertain herself from the first few weeks of her life.  Pip was found in tall grass at a few days old just before someone mowed the lawn.  They brought her to FFLAR, and she was bottle fed by her foster family.

Pip had no litter mates to grow up with, and her solitary confinement was tripled in length because she had a fungus that affects the skin.  It is not dangerous, but extremely contagious and difficult to get rid of. Because of her condition, Pip had to be quarantined alone for many months while under treatment. She was a trooper and never failed to make her foster family laugh with her antics in a relatively small space. She became an accomplished acrobat, doing back flips while tossing her toys around.

When she was finally clear of the fungus, she got put in with other kittens of varying ages.  After months of solitary confinement, she had no idea how to act around other cats and managed to ruffle a few whiskers. But she is sweet in nature and really wants to please.  She watched the other kittens and learned from them; how to play non-aggressively and NOT whack any critter who came within her orbit; how to sneak into bed and curl up with foster mom, how to push her way onto mom’s lap to get the best chin rubs, etc.

But above all, Pip remains an entertaining and engaging character!  She gets along well with other cats and only whacks them when mom isn't looking, she is trying to cozy up to a mild mannered dog that shares her space, she zooms around like a wind up toy, but then crashes onto moms lap for a purr and a nap.  She will bring much merriment to the loving family that adopts her!

If you think you have room in your heart and home for our funny Pip, please contact her foster mom, Laura, at (540) 272-3506 (cell).
