Puck is an extraordinarily handsome 4 mos. old bullseye tabby boy with a silky soft pelt and a bengal gaze. Watching him is fascinating. Watching him watch you hints at “Call of the Wild”.
Sadly, Puck grew up in isolation. He was the only survivor of his litter and learned to play alone while mama hunted. When FFLAR trapped him, he had to go through quarantine alone, since he had no siblings. His quarantine was much longer than usual because cats trapped in that area had ringworm. It turns out Puck did not have ringworm, but it takes a while for cultures to run, and we always run two to be sure.
This early isolation, plus his exotic coat markings, gives Puck an otherworldly aura. He shows signs of being very independent, and sleeps alone, but he enjoys the other kittens in his room. We see him romping more and more with them, though he lays quietly and watches them just as often.
Puck will not let his humans just scoop him up, but he doesn't put up much of a chase when we are determined to snuggle with him. When we do, he quickly relaxes and is a purr-baby, and stroking his thick, silky pelt is such a stress reliever!
Puck does get along with other cats and does not mind sharing space with a well-mannered dog. He would make a great companion for a lively cat that needs company, and, we believe, will soon be a great companion for a special person, too. He is a work in progress, and exchanging those intense gazes with him in the meantime is fascinating. PS: we were so delighted when we recently caught him napping and he stretched and let us cuddle him rather than retreating. Yay! Puck has been neutered, microchipped, tested for FeLV and FIV, is current on his vaccinations, and has been treated for fleas, ear mites, and worms. His adoption fee is $130, cash or check only.
